Schools in General

Thai Mueang Volunteers is working closely together with the schools in our program.
All the schools are located in Takua Pa District. They are all government schools and they are dependant on the Ministry of Education, Thailand.
The budget from the Thai government to support the schools are as:
1300 Baht ($40US) for a student in primary school, per term (5 months).
1800 Baht ($60US)for each student at a secondary school.
Our main task in our support for the schools at the moment is to fill up their libraries with English books.
With their limited budgets they rarely even consider buying English books for their schools.

Volunteer Teaching
at a Thai School

Volunteer teaching can be a very rewarding experience for both the volunteer teacher and the student. The key to teaching an effective lesson is preparation. Volunteers must create detailed lesson plans that are adaptable to different classes. If one teaching method is not working, volunteers must adapt and try something else.
A volunteer must remember that Thai teaching methodology will differ greatly from that of the western world. Volunteers must focus on teaching English and giving the children the best experience possible, not trying to change the Thai education system.
Volunteer qualities: Patience, a smile, and a visible willingness to do a little bit extra.

Need  volunteers  for teaching  English  at  school

Nowadays learning English is an important role to Thai people to help communicate with foreigners in many ways of living. Learning English with the native speakers is very useful to Thai students to practice their listening and speaking skills, they can use and develop their skills directly and also increase their self-confidence when volunteers and students have direct contact.

Speaking and listening in English are still the main  problems for students in Thailand. We need a native speaking volunteer teacher at Ban Yan Yao Municipal School to help improve students and for them to have the skills of using English. This will stimulate them to learn English that can open their minds to the world. Your help can make them to progress in their future lives and create the great experiences.

I am looking for your help to work with my students.

Thank you,

Mrs. Supitcha Sermsirimanon
English Teacher of Ban Yan Yao Municipal School, Takuapa, Phang Nga, Thailand.
